In response to Gov. Whitmer signing the repeal of Michigan’s “Right-to-Work” law, Michigan United issued the following statement:
“Today, Michigan made history by becoming the first state since 1958 to repeal an anti-worker law deceptively called ‘right-to-work.’ This is a major victory for Michigan’s working class, and it should give hope to workers across the nation still laboring under similar laws that suppress their rights solely to increase profits for their bosses. A stronger labor movement will help create a better Michigan for working families in the form of higher pay and improved benefits. We fought side-by-side with our union brothers and sisters to repeal this law, and we will continue to stand with them in our collective struggle for economic and social justice.”
