On Monday, Michigan Deputy Secretary of State Aghogho Edevbie spoke at the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Justice Assembly and Awards Ceremony at Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Detroit, MI.

We want to personally thank you for joining us to celebrate Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. weekend. It was jam-packed. It began when we honored his legacy with a thought-provoking conversation on race at our rally with special guests Dr. Louis Forsythe II, Dr. Irene Lietz, and Dr. Patricia Coleman-Burns.

On Monday, we held a Justice Assembly and Awards Ceremony, recognizing individuals and organizations embodying Dr. King's values of justice and dignity. We were honored to have the incredible Michigan Deputy Secretary of State Aghogho Edevbie, Dr. Abdul El-Sayed, Dr. Ijeoma Nnodim Opara, Rev. Cindy Rudolph, and numerous others as our guests. We also honored trailblazers and activists Emma Lockrage, Maya Manuel, and posthumously Reverend Dr. Joann Watson, Samantha Woll, and Ted Lawson.
